Text Box: Our Goof Troop and Tiggers Kindergarten Readiness Program is offered for children preparing to enter kindergarten. Each week a letter of the alphabet is selected and built into the curriculum. The letters of the week is integrated within all areas of learning including reading and writing, math, science, art, health and nutrition, and physical activities. Kindergarten Readiness Curriculum Focus: Phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and phonics Learn to say and write first names Learn phone number and street address Learn to write 1—10, count 1—20, and recite 1—30 Choose, name, and draw colors and shapes Recognize all upper case letters, the ABC’s, and consonant sounds Learn to hold a pencil and build directional skill to begin writing Increase attention span while learning to listen and follow directions Expand perception and awareness of literature, verse rhymes, illustrations, problem/solution, prediction, humor, and story type Practice gross and fine motor skills through classroom exercises Learn school manners in sharing, taking turns, building friendships, and table time activities << Return to Services page Next Program >>
