Text Box: Our Music Enhancement Program is offered to all students currently enrolled at Storyland. External students are also welcome to attend. Our ABC Music and Me program presented by Kindermusik uses research proven methods shown to develop and enhance children’s singing, reading, and early learning skills. Children enjoy a multi sensory workout through an integration of physical, cognitive, social, and emotional learning. Studies show that when children are participating in music, they are stimulating multiple regions of their brain which in turn better prepares them for early reading, math, problem solving, and concentration. It also builds a foundation for music education by introducing music vocabulary, pre-music reading, and basic music concepts. Developmental Benefits

For 2—3 year olds

Integrates physical, cognitive, social, and emotional learning domains.

Uses a multi sensory approach to teach early music concepts such as high and quiet or high and low.

Invites children to explore the joy of group learning, practicing social skills such as turn taking and cooperation.

Prepares children to practice the listening and attention skills  that ensure early school success.

 

For 4—6 year olds

Introduces young musicians to composers, songs, and styles from a variety of genres such as classical, jazz, and folk.

Builds a sturdy foundation for music education by introducing children to music vocabulary, pre-music reading, and more complex music concepts such as largo and presto or legato and staccato.

Provides fun guided, ensemble style opportunities for vocal exploration, movement, and instrument play.

Offers a primer for early keyboard skills.
